King’s Cross is one of the largest and most successful redevelopments in London. Over the past 20 years, what was an underused industrial site has been transformed and rejuvenated with new streets, squares and parks, homes, shops, offices, galleries, restaurants, schools, and even a university.
On this walking tour, we explore the industrial heritage of the site and learn the story of its radical transformation.
Under the guidance of architect, Ross Logie, we begin our tour at King's Cross Station - London's oldest existing terminus station. We review several recent projects by notable architects such as Thomas Heatherwick, BIG, David Chipperfield and Alison Brooks. Our looping walk ends back at King's Cross Station.
King's Cross masterplan has even been shortlisted for this year's RIBA Stirling Prize, the highest award in UK architecture. So it's an ideal time to join us on this fascinating, architectural walk.
